“Struggled to be heard and respected in the appointment. The person I saw was trying to restrict me of medication options because they asaumed that I was planning on having children. They did not ask or verify if that was my plan. If I hadn't pressed them to explain why they weren't listing those meds as an option I wouldn't have been given the opportunity to know about them. Overall deeply concerning and frustrating experience. The diagnosis and medication they did eventually list out for me, I do agree with. And I do appreciate receiving that information.”

Dorothy has been an amazing support and not our first try..Advocating for yourself or your child will find a perfect fit for your needs within Shifa. One of their office staff is such an angel, informing me the best direction I needed to go and helping me set up appointments to accommodate my work schedule. Don't be afraid to verbalize your needs to get what you want, and talk to more than one person if you have to. It took work and communication to find the right fit for my teens needs.”

“I did t know what to expect when I first looked at their website as I had never been to a psychiatrist. What I can say is that this is a place that truly cares about their patience and meets them where they are. Working with Dorothy has been an amazing collaborative experience to plan what health looks like for me personally. They off comprehensive care sometimes it meds sometimes it’s talk therapy what you need most is what they strive to provide. I am so trying found this place and I’d encourage anyone to try them if they are looking to address their mental health.”
